Step 1: Sign Up for a Personalized In-Person or Virtual Tour
Book a tour, either in person or virtually, to learn more about our programs, schedules, and tuition. This tour is a great opportunity to ask any questions and see our school in action.
During your tour, we’ll talk about the enrollment process and timeline.
Near-term and mid-year enrollment: We enroll students year-round based on availability and a good match between your child and an open spot. We consider factors like age timing, and previous Montessori experience. If there is a fit, you might receive an enrollment offer during or soon after your tour.
Waitlist for future school year or mid-year openings: If you are planning ahead for the next school year, we recommend placing your child on our waitlist as soon as possible. You’ll receive a link to join the waitlist after your tour. The earlier you apply, the higher your child will be on the list. Enrollment offers for the upcoming school year are typically sent between February and April.
In some cases, we may need more details before making a final enrollment decision.
Financial aid: We offer limited, needs-based financial aid. You can ask about it during your tour or read more on our Financial Aid page.
Children five or older: For children entering kindergarten, elementary, or middle school, we may schedule an assessment visit. This visit could last from one hour to half a day, depending on your child’s age and the program. We also request transcripts for elementary and middle school students.
Children with special needs: If your child has any special needs, such as food allergies, diabetes, or learning challenges, please let us know during your tour. Depending on your child’s needs, we may request a visit before offering enrollment, or ask for additional information from a healthcare provider.
For all families, after you submit your application and tuition deposit, you will also need to send additional information such as vaccination records, emergency contacts, and food preferences.
Does LePort offer school tours?
Yes, we do! We offer tours all year. Tours are usually in the mornings so you can see the students working. Please schedule your tour ahead of time to prevent crowding and interruptions.
Can I observe the school in action before enrolling my child?
Absolutely. After your tour, you can come back to visit. Please schedule your visit at least a week in advance so we do not disrupt the class.
Can my child join mid-year?
Yes. We accept mid-year enrollments when space allows in all of our programs.
Can my child join in 2nd or 5th grade, in the middle of your program?
Yes. You can certainly join if we have space available for you. We suggest you enroll early, especially for preschool, since our classes can fill up. Please contact us to talk about your child’s situation
How do you assess whether your school is a good fit for my child?
For children younger than four, we usually do not do any assessments. For older children, such as those starting our kindergarten or elementary programs, we might invite them for a classroom visit. They may spend time with a teacher and join in class activities. For older elementary and middle school students, we might also ask for an interview, written work, and school reports.
Do you offer scholarships or financial aid?
Yes. We offer needs-based financial aid for qualifying families. Aid awards are based on family circumstances such as income and number of children, and typically range from 5% to 40% of tuition. Returning families receive priority. For more information, please see our Financial Aid page.
Do you enroll international students?
Yes. We accept international students in all of our programs. English language requirements vary based on the age of the child and the specific program. Young children (up to age 4) do not need to know English. For our older children, language skills will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. We do not have special English classes, so students will need to manage without extra help. If your child receives a spot, we will help you with the paperwork for a student visa.
Are deposits or tuition refundable?
Deposits are used for the last billing period if you give proper notice. You must let us know by the 20th of the month for the deposit to be applied to the next month’s tuition. If you give notice after the 20th, the deposit will be used for the second month after. Refunds for prepaid tuition are handled the same way.
Why is there a photo waiver on the enrollment application?
We use photos as a key tool to document your child’s progress and to share day-to-day learning with you. These photos provide a “window into the classroom” and help you understand what your child is doing at school. Photos are shared securely through email and our internal communication systems. Sometimes, we also use photos for parent presentations or marketing, but we never share personal information. If you have concerns, please contact us to opt out.
What is LePort Montessori’s Non-Discrimination Policy?
We do not discriminate in our educational services on the basis of race, color, religion, age, gender, national origin, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law. Please contact your school of interest for more information.
