LePort Montessori Solana Beach is a neighborhood school conveniently located just off the 5, a few blocks south of Loma Santa Fe Drive, south of Loma Santa Fe Plaza. We serve families from Solana Beach, Del Mar, Cardiff by the Sea, Encinitas, Rancho Santa Fe, and other nearby communities. Our campus was built under the careful consultation of Maria Montessori’s own son, Mario Montessori, and offers the perfect balance of academic opportunity, freedom to explore, and site security desired by parents, educators, and administrators alike. Since becoming a LePort School in 2015, we’ve grown into a vibrant community committed to active, independent, academically strong children. Our well-trained, experienced teachers, mixed-age classrooms, and uninterrupted work periods set us apart as a quality Montessori school. Our primary focus is to help your child gain what we refer to as “Knowledge for Life” —the essential knowledge, thinking skills, and strength of character required to thrive as joyful children today and successful adults tomorrow.

Spanish Bilingual for Infants and Toddlers • Spanish Immersion for Preschool/Kindergarten

Toddlers and preschoolers have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn a second language almost effortlessly. In the Spanish immersion Montessori classrooms for toddler and preschool, both the Montessori-trained head teacher and the assistant teacher are native Spanish speakers, and speak solely in Spanish with the children from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm every day.

Students receive Montessori lessons in Spanish, sing songs in Spanish, and (in preschool) learn to write and read in Spanish. The mixed-age Montessori communities are rich environments for natural language acquisition. You can give your child the gift of being bilingual—just by enrolling them in our Spanish immersion preschool!

  • Multi-sensory, sequenced, hands-on materials that allow children to learn joyfully—as against days spending much time on worksheets and textbooks
  • Individualized learning plans for each elementary-aged child, so children can proceed at an accelerated pace in their areas of strengths, and receive additional support in other areas
  • Practice time built into the school day, so you can enjoy family time at home (Instead of being a homework task master)
  • A welcoming, comfortable environment where children can move throughout the day, working at group or individual tables, on work rugs or on sofas, instead of sitting still at desks
  • Purposeful development of self-management skills—organization, problem solving, and mastering social conflicts

LePort Montessori Solana Beach School and Admissions Quick Facts

  • One school through elementary: authentic Montessori from infant daycare through elementary (ages 18 months – 12 years).
  • Parent & Child Montessori programs (four annual sessions, 6-8 weeks each) to try out Montessori with your baby or toddler.
  • Convenient hours: open 7 am – 6 pm, year-round, with half-day and 8:30 am – 3 pm options, as well as on-site, after-school activities, from dance to soccer and music.
  • Convenient location off I5, between Solana Beach and Del Mar: minutes of I5, on the Loma Santa Fe exit; an easy drop-off for parents commuting on I5 to and from La Jolla and San Diego.
  • A purpose-built Montessori school: preschool classrooms with integrated outside classrooms space, with lots of windows and en-suite bathrooms; a separate elementary building for our older students, with community spaces for students, parents and the broader community
  • Separate, age-appropriate playground spaces, with tricycles, swings, climbing structures and gardening spaces for all ages
  • Accepting enrollments year-round (space permitting); tour now and enroll immediately or join the waitlist to secure enrollment for the next school year

Students eagerly anticipate the beginning of each school day, knowing that something new and exciting lies on the morning horizon.

The Solana Beach campus was designed with your child in mind. Here, students will work in comfortable, clean, and organized spaces indoors, and open, fun domains outdoors where they can seamlessly transition to additional educational and inviting options. Safety is a high priority here, and our teacher-to-student ratio reflects our commitment to maintaining “watchful eyes” over our precious children.
